Dr Nishant Nundlall is a cardiometabolic physician. As the Head of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) in Mauritius, he is involved in the strategic planning and policy formulation of the Ministry of Health and Wellness, ensuring effective engagement with stakeholders to address Mauritius pressing cardio-metabolic diseases health concerns.
With specialised training in endocrinology, advanced multimodality cardiac imaging, obesity and metabolic medicine, Dr Nundlall brings a multifaceted approach to his clinical practice and policy shaper role. He has led the establishment of the first cardiac MRI and cardiac CT service in Mauritius.
Moreover, he serves as an honorary consultant in cardiology at Nepean Hospital in Sydney, Australia. In this capacity, he remains actively involved in the cardiac imaging department, conducting research trials to advance the understanding of cardiac imaging and its implications for obesity and cardiometabolic disorders.
Dr. Nundlall is passionate about accessible healthcare through innovative solutions and a holistic approach that encompasses education, early detection, intervention and community involvement, fostering a culture of prevention and wellness.
