Dr T.P.Ramchurn is super specialised in complex cancer surgeries of the Gastrointestinal system which includes the stomach, small and large intestine, biliary tract, liver, pancreas and the peritoneal surface. He has wide experience in multivisceral resections and has also trained in novel techniques like cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC).

He also attends to complex benign gastrointestinal conditions like: Acid Reflux, Biliary injuries and strictures, Chronic calcific pancreatitis, Portal hypertension and Ulcerative colitis.

His general surgery skillset includes surgery of breast including Oncoplastic breast surgery, thyroid, gallbladder stone, hernia, varicose vein and proctology. He is both proficient is conventional as well as advanced laparoscopy techniques and he performs laser varicose vein and proctology surgeries. He performs endoscopic procedures as well as Endourology procedures as part of his general surgery practice.

Since 2012 he worked as a Specialist and now Consultant in the field of General Surgery with the Ministry of Health, Mauritius.

In 2014 and 2015, he worked as Fellow at the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Centre which is a high volume and the second largest cancer centre in India.

In 2022 and 2023, Dr Ramchurn further honed his skills by working as a Research Fellow and Scholar in the Department of GI and HPB Oncosurgery and Liver Transplantation at the prestitigious Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi.

Dr Ramchurn has been recipient of various prestigious international awards namely: the Mandela Washington Fellowship award, the Gyan Burman Fellowship award and the International Hepato-Pancreatobiliary Association bursary.
