Treating doctors are authorised to prescribe a Covid Text (RAT/RT-PCR/Gene Xpert PCR) for any patient, at any time, upon their discretion and within the rules stated in this policy
As per government regulations, citizens of Mauritius are advised to be vaccinated. C-Care encourages vaccination of all citizens; however, C-Care will not turn away any unvaccinated patients that require treatment and care.
ADMISSION RULES
Patient coming specifically for Covid-19 treatments:
Covid-19 treatments for severe symptoms can lead to sustained expenses, including medical services from doctors, specialists, other health professionals, hospital treatment and prescription medicines.
- Patients coming specifically for Covid treatment only will be asked for a specific deposit for covid treatment and will be admitted in a specific room or private isolated room with enhanced precautionary measures or in an isolated ICU room, if available.

Other cases:
- Patients who are coming for a planned surgery and tested Covid positive will be rescheduled, if not urgent. Otherwise, if the surgery is required as an emergency, the patient will be admitted in a private isolated room, or an isolated ICU room, as applicable, pre-, and post-surgery.
- Any admitted patient who develops Covid symptoms during their stay would be transfered to a specific room or private isolated room with enhanced precautionary measures or in an isolated ICU room, if required, and if available.
- Patient who are coming to Emergency for an emergency surgery (unplanned) but turns out to be Covid positive will be admitted in a private isolated room, or an isolated ICU room, as applicable, pre-, and post-surgery.
