On 10th March 2026, we formalized a strategic partnership with Clarke International University through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Hotel Le Bougainviller.

This partnership represents more than just an agreement. It is the beginning of a shared journey to combine clinical expertise with academic research and innovation, all aimed at solving real-world healthcare challenges and improving patient outcomes across Uganda.

A Partnership for Innovation and Impact

Through this collaboration, C-Care Uganda will work closely with The Foundry, the innovation hub at Clarke International University, which focuses on developing research-driven solutions and transformative healthcare technologies.

The Foundry at Clarke International University brings together innovators, researchers, and healthcare experts to create solutions that address real challenges within the health sector.

By connecting clinical experience from hospitals with the innovation ecosystem of academia, this partnership creates a powerful pipeline that allows healthcare problems to be identified, researched, tested, and transformed into scalable solutions that improve patient care.

This collaboration will support C-Care in strengthening its ability to deliver high-quality, accessible, and affordable healthcare services to communities across Uganda.

Driving Healthcare Innovation Through Four Key Pillars

The partnership will be implemented through four key operational pillars, each designed to ensure meaningful and measurable impact.

Clinical Validation

C-Care Uganda will provide real clinical environments where new ideas and innovations can be tested and validated. This ensures that emerging healthcare technologies and solutions are practical, effective, and grounded in the realities of patient care.

By testing innovations directly within clinical settings, we can ensure that solutions are relevant, safe, and beneficial for patients and healthcare providers alike.

 

Collaborative Research and Development

Through this partnership, The Foundry will serve as a strategic research and development partner for C-Care.

Together, both institutions will identify key healthcare challenges and work collaboratively to transform these challenges into innovative medical solutions, technologies, and improved care models.

This approach allows research to move beyond theory and become practical solutions that directly improve healthcare delivery.

Talent Development

Another important pillar of this collaboration is the development of the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Students and emerging professionals from Clarke International University will gain valuable exposure through mentorship, training opportunities, and experience within real clinical environments at C-Care facilities.

This initiative will help nurture future doctors, researchers, innovators, and healthcare leaders, strengthening the healthcare workforce in Uganda.

Ethical Integrity

Healthcare innovation must always be guided by strong ethical standards. All collaborative research and data sharing will strictly follow national regulatory guidelines, transparency standards, and ethical medical practices.

Maintaining integrity ensures that innovation remains focused on patient safety, responsible research, and public trust.

The MoU signing ceremony brought together distinguished leaders from both institutions who share a common vision for advancing healthcare in Uganda. Among those present at the event were: Azhar Sudhoo – CEO, C-Care – East Africa, Dr. Miriam Mutero – General Manager, C-Care IHK, Ian Clarke – Founder of IHK and Clarke International University, Dr. Milka Singh – Deputy Vice Chancellor, CIU, David Jolly – Founder and Innovator, The Foundry.

During the ceremony, leaders emphasized the critical role of technology, innovation, and collaboration in shaping the future of healthcare.

 

 

As Azhar highlighted during the discussions, the integration of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies will help decentralize healthcare systems, making quality medical services more accessible and affordable to communities across Uganda.
