Dr Aucharaz’s subspecialty is breast surgery however he has been trained beyond the usual standard into what is known as oncoplastic breast surgery. He also has general surgery skills.
His general surgery skillset includes acute general surgery, including laparoscopic and laparotomy procedures, bowel handling and resection, endoscopy, treatment of GI bleeding, hernia and gallstones(laparoscopic), lumps and bumps.
He also offers the full range of modern breast surgery meaning that he can perform breast reconstructions when a mandatory mastectomy procedure has been performed, in addition to more complex surgeries to remove cancers but salvaging the breast at the same time.
Since 2014, Dr. Aucharaz worked at University Hospital Limerick which is one of the eight National Cancer Centres in Ireland and a Level 4 Trauma Centre receiving all trauma specialties.
Dr. Aucharaz has acquired a vast amount of experience at the Breast service of the University Hospital Limerick Centre and has become adept at performing procedures such as breast cancer surgeries, oncoplastic surgeries.
Dr. Aucharaz has supported and performed a number of audits and clinical research projects, both of which have been used in presentations and publications.
On several occasions, Dr. Aucharaz has been awarded the “Best Presentation” at Surgical Grand Rounds, which is a renowned platform where a broad range of topics are presented by local, regional, and international speakers on clinical education, research science, developments in technology, while also addressing other related issues that may affect current and future surgeons.
